What we collect,
and why.

Last updated April 2026. We use straightforward language because the alternative is dishonest.

01Public profile data

Only what's already public

CreatorBenchmarks reads public profile data from Instagram and TikTok: handle, follower and following counts, public posts, captions, comment volume, and basic engagement metrics. We do not access private accounts, private follower lists, DMs, Stories, or any non-public surface.

We follow each platform’s public API surface and rate limits. We do not ask creators or anyone else for their passwords.

02Account holders

What we store about you

If you create an account, we store:

  • Your email address (for sign-in via magic link).
  • Your optional handle (so we can preload your benchmark).
  • Your watchlist entries and snapshot history.
  • Billing metadata from Stripe (we never see your card number).
  • Standard product analytics: which pages you visit on this site, which reports you load, what you click.

We do not sell this data. We do not share it with third parties outside the operational tools listed below. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

03Subprocessors

The tools that touch your data

  • Vercel — hosting and CDN.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Postmark — transactional email.
  • Plausible — privacy-respecting product analytics, no cookies.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and DDoS protection.

That’s the full list. If we add a sub-processor, we update this page and the changelog the same day.

04Creator data removal

If you're a creator and you don't want to be benchmarked

We benchmark public profiles. If you’re a creator and you want your handle removed from public-facing benchmark URLs, we’ll honor it. Visit the data removal page and submit your handle. Removal happens within seven days. Your data is also excluded from any model training we do.

We will not retaliate, gate, or argue with creators who request removal. The benchmark exists to be useful to creators; if a specific creator finds it unhelpful, the right response is removal, not negotiation.

05Cookies

Almost none

We use a single cookie for sign-in session state. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting. Plausible analytics uses no cookies at all.
